Why do I need a website?

Why a website?

In today’s day and age we live in a very competitive market where many businesses are struggling to continue to find new customers and maintain their current ones.  Although the internet is used today more than any other source, over half of today’s small businesses do not have a website. Here are a few things to think about as you consider the importance of creating your website:

1. Over 80% of people go to the internet (not the yellow pages anymore) to find local businesses. this means if you don’t have a website now, once creating your website you will have opened the virtual doors of your business to the 80% of people who could not find you before!  This means that over 80% over the internet is not able to find you if you do not have a website.  An even worse thought is if one of your competitors have a website, this means that over 80% of people will find them before they find you!  Without a website, you simply do not exist to the average consumer.

2. A website establishes credibility. You need to be seen as a professional business.  Not having a website today is like not having a business card.  A website is just like a business card, but it provides much more information.  Without a website the credibility of your business depreciates, especially as the customer searches for competitors and researches your product or service thoroughly.  With a sleek website you can rest assured that your customers and potential customers are receiving the type of first impression you want them to receive.

3. Websites are inexpensive for the return you receive. When looking at pricing for your business you are likely to tally up several thousand dollars worth of costs for just running your business for one month.  With a website you can invest in it once and then all you have to do is make an occasional update.  It will pay for itself with just one or two customers who find your business through it.  Just think about it, how much is one customer worth to you?  For most businesses, just an additional one or two customers caused by the website will pay for the website for years.  From a business standpoint it only makes sense to make a move that pays for itself.  Creating a website is virtually a “no risk” investment.

4. Are you open 24/7? Most businesses are not, so who answers potential customer’s questions when your business is closed.  With a website, you have a 24/7  receptionist, which you don’t have to pay any wages to, that is able to help your customers understand what you business stands for and research your product/service while your office doors are closed for the night or weekend.

There are many more reasons we could discuss why your business needs a website.  No matter how much success you have had in the past, or plan on for the future, your true potential will not be known until you have branched out to the majority of the population through a website.  To discuss how I can help you accomplish this on a limited budget please contact me through the contact page.
